Calorist Android is a ready-to-launch native Kotlin + Jetpack Compose calorie and nutrition tracker for Google Play, powered by a complete Laravel admin panel and mobile API. Built for the health & fitness market, it pairs a polished Compose UI with a production-ready PHP backend: Google Gemini handles the AI food analysis server-side, Firebase provides auth, remote configuration and push, and RevenueCat handles Pro subscriptions.
The app is organized around five main slots — Home, History, a center Scan button, Insights, and Profile — giving users a complete workflow from logging a meal to understanding their trends. Snap a photo of a plate, scan a barcode offline, or just describe a meal in words — the server returns calories and macros (protein, carbs, fat) in seconds. Daily goals, a calorie ring, water tracking, weight logging, streaks and an AI nutrition coach keep users on track. Behind the scenes you run the food catalogue, members, subscriptions, feature flags and AI budgets from one Laravel dashboard — no rebuild needed to change them.

AI Usage Disclosure
This item uses AI as a core feature. The app’s main functionality relies on third-party generative AI
services to turn what you eat into nutrition data:
- Meal photo analysis: powered by Google Gemini (vision model) — detects
foods in a photo and estimates calories and macros. - “Describe a meal” (voice & text) logging: powered by Google Gemini (text model)
— parses a natural-language meal description into structured foods and nutrition. - Nutrition insights & AI coach cards: powered by Google Gemini — generates personalized tips
from statistics computed from your own logs.
All calorie estimates, macro breakdowns, and coach tips created inside the app are AI-generated content
produced by these services and are approximate — they are not medical or dietary advice. Barcode scanning is
not AI: it runs on-device with a bundled ML Kit model and resolves against your own food catalogue. Every
Gemini call is made by the Laravel server, never by the app, so no provider key ships inside the APK. The
application source code itself was written and is maintained by our team. To use the AI features, you must
create your own Google Gemini (Google AI Studio) account and supply your own API key (see the Disclaimer
below).
Disclaimer
This app is built to work with the included Laravel admin panel (PHP 8.3 + MySQL) and
the following third-party services: Google Gemini (AI food analysis & insights, called server-side),
Firebase (Auth, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging), and RevenueCat (subscriptions).
Optional: OneSignal, AdMob, Cloudflare Turnstile. These backend services are not included in the purchase —
you will need to create your own accounts, deploy the Laravel panel on a PHP/MySQL host, configure API keys,
and manage hosting and AI usage costs yourself. Gemini usage is billed to your own Google Cloud account.
Basic familiarity with Android Studio, Firebase, Laravel, RevenueCat and Play Console is recommended before
launching.
