Israeli data security company Cyera has acquired the startup Ryft for a deal valued at up to $130 million, aiming to enhance AI security through Ryft’s automated data management technology. Founded in 2024, Ryft has developed a platform that manages enterprise data access crucial for adopting AI systems safely, addressing the enterprise security gaps that have arisen due to rapid AI adoption. With a previous seed funding of $8 million, this acquisition marks a significant return for Ryft’s founders and investors, including Index Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners. Following the acquisition, Ryft’s CEO Yossi Reitblat will lead Cyera’s AI security division, integrating Ryft’s capabilities to better protect sensitive data in complex AI-driven environments.
Ryft: Ryft is a startup offering an automated data lake platform built for AI agents, focusing on secure data access, classification, permissions management, and optimization using Apache Iceberg.10 Its technology enables organizations to manage interactions between humans, AI systems, and enterprise data. Guy Gadon: Guy Gadon is the co-founder and VP of R&D at Ryft, key in building its automated data classification and permissions technology for enterprise AI use. As part of the acquisition, the Ryft team including Gadon will join Cyera to advance agentic AI security.26
Yuval Yogev: Yuval Yogev is the co-founder and CTO of Ryft, contributing to its platform for analyzing and automating data interactions in AI environments. The Ryft team, including Yogev, will integrate into Cyera’s AI security group post-acquisition.26
Index Ventures: Index Ventures is a global venture capital firm investing in early-stage technology startups across software and infrastructure sectors. It provided seed funding to Ryft to support its AI data management platform. The acquisition by Cyera delivers a successful return for Index Ventures.11
Yossi Reitblat: Yossi Reitblat is the co-founder and CEO of Ryft, where he led the development of automated data management solutions for secure AI adoption.2530 Following the acquisition, he will join Cyera to lead its AI security division.
